Before it arrived, people checked out the victims and found that it was Emerald that needed medical attention because, though covered in blood, she was still alive but gasping for breath and had broken limbs: both arms and one leg. Its color alone had a silent punishment that freaked me out. I took it but didn’t open it at once. The fear of it bearing terrible news got the best of me. I hid it and opened it the following day. Her parents wanted someone of a high caliber, which on the onset, I wasn’t. I knew I couldn’t work miracles in a day and become rich so as to be considered but I so wished. I thought to myself how best I would give her the life she grew up in but it was outright she was doing me a favor. I wasn’t loveable, so I thought. I liked all her comments and after a while, I sent her a friend request and we started chatting privately. I had no idea how to kick off a conversation with a person I was only friends with on social media but she saved me the trouble and started the chat with, “Hello stranger friend” followed by a smiley face emoji.
